Aquatherm® fabric has been developed to enable wearers to remain warm and dry for sport or leisure, in a whole range of conditions. It is a lightweight fabric that offers great freedom of movement, far more so than with traditional, bulkier neoprene and woven garments.

It is essential that the garment is working with the athlete, unlike earlier neoprene fabrics, where the athlete is more often working against the garment. Aquatherm is less than a millimetre thick and remains stable, flexible, strong and waterproof when fully flexed. Unlike neoprene, it has the added advantage of being watershedding and fast drying, so less temperature is lost from the wet outer shell through evaporation.

Greenland Style Gauntlets

Designed by popular request, these unique Aquatherm gauntlets give full waterproof protection of the hands and arms in icy conditions.

Ultimate overmitts. Well worth having. 23/09/2021

These are probably the only readily-available overmitts I've seen that cover the entire length of your arms. Why this hasn't been thought of before I don't know, but they are so useful. I'm not involved in kayaking or canoeing, but am always on the lookout for decent winter kit that I can wear when working with horses and around the stables.

As I'm a big fan of Transpire thermals which I've more or less lived in over many winters, I thought I'd give these overmitts a try. I found that they were big enough to wear thermal glove liners and fleece mittens inside - just what I need December/January time - and will comfortably fit over the sleeves of my thermal overalls. Self-locking drawcord buckles stop them from slipping down - excellent design.

Even though they are mitts, they still allow enough dexterity to carry buckets, operate water taps, fill haynets and do other stable jobs. They are definitely waterproof, plus they also keep out dirt and debris so my hands stay clean.

They also look suitable as overmitts for quad-biking / snowmobiling, but I haven't tried that yet.

Added to my existing Transpire thermal layers, these overmitts feel like another winner from Chillcheater and I hope to get many years' use out of them.

Incidentally, I still live in hope that Chillcheater might one day consider making Transpire thermal gloves - they would be perfect liners for these overmitts.
