At Reed Chillcheater, we believe your paddling gear should go the distance. That means designing and manufacturing kayaking kit that stands up to harsh seas, long portages, and the occasional unplanned swim. But it also means standing by what we make when the inevitable wear and tear sets in.
We Don’t Believe in Throwaway Gear
When something breaks, most companies will tell you to buy new. That’s not how we work.
We repair all our Reed gear in-house, right here in our Devon workshop. From worn-out dry trousers to torn cags, we fix it all. No matter how battered your Reed kit looks, chances are we can give it a second life and often a third.
We Don’t Stop at Our Own Gear
Your old gear still has stories to tell. Got a split seam or a dodgy zip on gear from another brand? We’ve got you covered. We offer repairs for third-party kayaking gear, drysuits, paddling jackets, and more. Whether it’s a cracked seal on a non-Reed drysuit or a leaky neck gasket, we’ll do our best to keep it in use and out of landfill.
Wetsuit Repairs? Absolutely.
We also provide a professional wetsuit repair service. Surf, swim, kayak, it doesn’t matter where your wetsuit came from or what it’s been through. If it can be repaired, we’ll get it back in action, helping reduce waste and save you money.
NB If you no longer need/want your wetsuit, don't bin it! We take them in, re-vamp them and donate them to our local Wave Project Charity.
Why We Do It
We believe in repairing over replacing. It keeps gear out of landfill, reduces environmental impact, and helps paddlers stay on the water longer.
Sustainable kayaking gear isn’t just about how it's made, it’s about how long it lasts.
So before you replace your paddling kit, ask us if we can fix it. You might be surprised what’s possible.
